Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most frequent—and most frustrating—causes of heel pain we see at our clinic. This condition arises when the plantar fascia, the thick band of connective tissue linking the heel to the toes, becomes strained, irritated, or inflamed.

At New Orleans Podiatry, your experience begins with a thorough clinical evaluation, same-day diagnostic imaging, and a subsequent deep dive analysis into your metabolic health if necessary to identify the root cause of your discomfort.

Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative medicine focuses on helping the human body repair and restore itself by using its own cells, growth factors, and repair mechanisms. At New Orleans Podiatry, we use advanced cellular therapies to address damaged tissues, improve blood flow, and support long-term recovery. Our approach is designed for patients who want to go beyond symptom management and work toward restoring normal function in their feet and ankles.

Dr. Edward Lang integrates regenerative medicine research and proven clinical practice, drawing from the latest advances in cell biology, tissue engineering, and wound healing. Whether we are supporting recovery from sports injuries, chronic joint pain, or slow-healing wounds, our goal is to help the body replace tissue, improve function, and maintain mobility.

Integrative Podiatry

Integrative Podiatry blends the best of traditional podiatric medicine with evidence-based, non-pharmaceutical approaches to promote whole-body wellness through foot health. This holistic model recognizes that the feet are foundational to overall function and vitality—because a pair of feet never walks into a clinic without the rest of the body. By integrating clinical care with nutrition, lifestyle modifications, movement education, and personalized wellness strategies, integrative podiatry addresses both the symptoms and root causes of foot and ankle conditions. It prioritizes prevention, empowers patients through education, and supports the body’s natural healing processes—bridging modern medicine with a thoughtful, whole-person philosophy of care.

Neuropathy Mapping

Peripheral neuropathy refers to damage or dysfunction of the peripheral nerves, which are responsible for transmitting signals between the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) and the rest of the body. This condition commonly affects the extremities, such as the fingers and toes, but can also involve other areas.

Neuropathy mapping is the process of identifying the true origins of nerve damage through deep-dive lab analysis, SudoScan, and/or biopsy testing, and then treating those drivers with targeted nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle changes, and—when appropriate—pharmaceutical support.

From Cosmetic Foot Surgery to Clinical Medical Aesthetics

Originally opened in 1999, The Barefoot is Louisiana’s first and oldest medical spa devoted entirely to foot health. What began as a clinical complement to podiatric care has evolved into a serene haven for healthy, strong, and beautiful feet.

Our philosophy blends clinical expertise with elevated self-care—uniting science and serenity in perfect balance. Every service is performed with sterilized instruments and pure, non-toxic formulations, reflecting our uncompromising commitment to whole-body wellness.

Patient Testimonials

“While experiencing severe foot pain, I was referred to this facility by a friend. I was greeted with kindness and empathy on the phone. Then, when I arrived for my next-day appointment, I further noticed the staff was gentle, kind, and well-trained in providing care. Five stars to the Staff, the Doctor was also awesome.”

–S.B., New Orleans, LA, foot pain patient.

“I've been having pain in my left foot, and Dr. Lang took the time to thoroughly understand what's been going on, come up with a plan, and explain it to me. Not only that, but he personally texted me that evening to ask if I had any questions, which I did. So he went back and forth with me via text until I understood everything. When has a doctor EVER personally texted me before! I also like the ultra-chill "spa vibe" of their office.”

–P., New Orleans, LA, foot pain patient.

“My experience with Dr. Lang and his staff was very gratifying. Everyone was very pleasant and professional. Dr. Lang reviewed my X-rays with me, discussed options, specifically using a conservative approach to alleviating my problem, as well as surgical intervention. I felt that I was definitely part of my care planning. I would highly recommend him!”

–C.H., New Orleans, LA, podiatry patient.

“This is such a wonderful practice! I won’t go to any other podiatrist in the city again! They were able to squeeze me in the same day, and I’m so grateful. The level of care they provide is top-notch, and I felt very comfortable undergoing a procedure I was nervous about beforehand. Definitely recommend!”

–B.H., New Orleans, LA, podiatry patient.

“The office is giving spa vibes. The staff were very nice and attentive. Dr. Lang is excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable and has the best personality. I highly recommend visiting NOPA for your podiatry needs.”

–T.H., New Orleans, LA, podiatry patient.

“Dr. Lang and his staff provide exceptional care and a perfect blend of warmth and professionalism. They take time to listen, explain treatment options clearly, and make sure you are comfortable every step of the way. Highly recommended!”

–B.K., New Orleans, LA, podiatry patient.

“I've been seeing him since like 2005-2006 for bunions when I was a teen. He is so good! I made the mistake of seeing a different doctor for my left bunion...and guess who had to fix it 15 years later? Lol dr. Lang. He's great! And the customer service is off the chain! It's such a good vibe in his office. I will always love the meditation music in the waiting room. I'd highly recommend.”

–R.P., New Orleans, LA, bunion patient.

“I have been going to Dr. Lang at New Orleans Podiatry for over five years now, and I will keep going back for any foot/ankle problems. The staff is friendly and attentive. Dr. Lang listens to your needs and pain issues and is always ready to help find the best solution to minimize pain without forcing patients to go through endless procedures and medications. Nothing but praise for this group. And my ankle is feeling so much better.”

–J.H., New Orleans, LA, ankle pain patient.

“Truly outstanding. They were able to fit me in for a same-day visit when I called. The staff were friendly and quick, and the doctor was wonderful. He figured out the problem quickly and explained everything. I had a lot of questions, and he was patient and knowledgeable. A day later, I’m feeling almost completely better! I really appreciated the follow-up text and the information for how to prevent future problems.”

–K.Z., New Orleans, LA, podiatry patient.

“My experience with New Orleans Podiatry exceeded my expectations! I injured my foot on Monday and, by Thursday, when it wasn’t improving, I knew I had to see a doctor. Didn’t know if I should go to the ER or urgent care. A friend suggested I reach out to a podiatrist directly, so to Google I went. When I called, the receptionist was so friendly and got me in to see the doc within 30 minutes. The office was super nice and clean, and all the staff were above and beyond friendly and helpful. I was in and out with X-rays, a broken foot, and a boot within an hour. They made something unfamiliar and painful so easy and comfortable. The doctor texted me to check in later in the day. Highly recommend!!”
