We combine topical anti-fungal medications with our Nd:YAG PinPointe FootLaser,™clinically proven to eliminate toenail fungus. Topical medications kill microbes on the nail surface, while the laser targets fungus deep within the nail.
Combination Therapy: Utilizing topical antifungal medications alongside the PinPointe FootLaser™ is a common strategy. Topical treatments address superficial fungal elements, while the laser targets deeper infections within the nail bed.
Clinical Evidence: Studies have demonstrated that combining laser therapy with topical antifungals can enhance treatment efficacy. For instance, a retrospective study by Weber et al., (2018) reported a mycological cure rate of 63% with one Nd:YAG laser therapy treatment alone, which increased to 86% when combined with topical treatments.
Treatment Frequency: Mild cases may require 3–4 treatments, while severe infections might need 6–8 sessions (Landsman et al., 2010).
